Product managers – let’s face it. We like to stay in control. It’s part of the job. We’re expected to understand every part of the product and be able to explain it to anyone – developers, customers, executives – clearly and confidently.
But in the world of GenAI and machine learning, control isn’t guaranteed.
The product becomes a living system. The logic isn’t always ours. We work with models we didn’t build, metrics we didn’t define, and teams who speak a different language. The potential is huge – but so is the friction.
In this talk, I’ll share what it’s like to build and lead AI-driven products from the product side. I’ll take you behind the scenes of real collaboration between PMs and data scientists – where we aligned, where we clashed, and what helped us move forward.
You’ll hear honest stories from the field:
How to measure success when there’s no one “right” answer
What to do when the model works… but you can’t explain why
How to stay in control when the system learns on its own
This talk is for product people working with AI, and data scientists working with product. If you’ve ever felt stuck between business clarity and model complexity – you’ll feel right at home.
You’ll leave with practical frameworks, communication tools, and a reminder that PMs can still lead – even when the product thinks for itself.
